many varieties of products are available?
There are currently 5 different families, providing a wide range
of options from small atmospheric to large, full condensing appliances
available. Lochinvar also manufactures a complete line of storage
tanks that range from 80-5000 US gallons
What
is the warranty on Lochinvar products?
Basically, all components are guaranteed against manufacturers defects
for one full year.
Our ASME approved heat exchangers are warranted for 5 years on the
domestic water heaters and 10 years on the heating boiler appliances.
There is no labour warranty.
What
size appliance do I need?
This is always the question. If you don't know the answer you need
to get a professional involved. Some methods
· Match the existing appliance.
· Measure and list the installed heat emitting devices.
· Conduct a new load calculation.
There are many different means to calculate your requirements. Ask
for help if you're not sure.
What
size pump do I need?
There are very specific flow requirements for Lochinvar products.
These flow rates are usually lower than other types of appliances.
Please consult the operating and maintenance manuals or this office
for specific requirements.
What
size vent do I need?
Most Lochinvar products are category 1, fan forced combustion appliances.
Therefore, you should use the CSA B-149 code to size your vent.
Care should be taken when using the CSA B-149 code as there are
a few loopholes to note. e.g.: on a short individual vent with no
offsets you can reduce the diameter from the outlet size on the
appliance. Again, if you're not sure, ask. There are also category
2 and 4 products available so check the manuals or with this office.

Are
Weil McLain boilers dry base boilers?
No Weil Mclain boilers are wet base boilers. This means that there
is water above and below the combustion chamber.
